About 'Veritas Design'
I’m Verity Hinwood and I love fabric and colour. I have channelled this love into interior decorating, patchwork and all crafts. I extended and formalised my artistic knowledge by completing a Certificate IV in Colour and Design and Diplomas in Surface Design and Colour Design.
In recent years I have extended my creative abilities to designing fabrics and set up Veritas Design. I am passionate about using the Australian natural and built environment as the inspiration for my contemporary designs. I am eager to continue to explore these themes in future designs - there is so much to share through my work.
My collection of nine patchwork and craft fabrics marked the start of my journey . “Waratahs”, based on the iconic Australian native flower, and “The Land Down Under”, highlighting famous Australian destinations, were very popular in the patchwork market.
A collection of fabrics designed for commercial furnishing applications followed my first collection. These designs once again were a response to the beauty and uniqueness of my surroundings living in Australia. These designs, although no longer in production, are available for printing by special order.
My most recent collection is a series of 14 cushion covers handmade for the home in Australia using my original designs based on Australian native flora. These designs are printed in Australia using water based dyes on beautiful Belgian 55% linen and 45% cotton blend fabric.
